Lisa Y. Garibay’s life on the U.S.-Mexico border guides her to cross boundaries in journalism, screenwriting, and nonfiction. She is the founder of ThenItMustBeTrue, one of the first online outlets for artists and journalists to conduct meaningful discussions. Her nonfiction was published in New World: Young Latino Writers (Dell). A Sundance Institute Arts Writing Fellow, Garibay has reported for BackstageThe El Paso TimesFilmmaker MagazineThe San Francisco Bay Guardian, and Written By. She is a member of the National Association of Science Writers and manages public relations for UCLA’s Division of Physical Sciences.
